I started Emberly Chimney Cleaners in 2009 after watching too many homeowners get a verbal “ballpark” that somehow tripled once the tech was already in the living room. That doesn’t happen here. I still pull a truck when we’re stacked up in October, and I still remember a flue in Willow Bend last year that looked like the inside of a coal mine. Not saying that to scare anyone. Just saying creosote doesn’t lie, and neither do we. I sign off on every written scope before it goes to a customer, and I read every photo record that comes back from the field. If something’s not right, I know before the homeowner does.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been running Emberly inspections in Collin County for eleven years. He’s NFPA 211 Level 2 certified and specializes in masonry evaluation, which means he’s the one who spots spalling, the flaking that happens to brick faces when freeze-thaw cycles get behind the surface. Plano’s clay soil shifts, and that movement cracks crowns. Marcus documented 340 crown failures last season alone, most of them in the older ranch homes east of Preston Road. Off the clock, he restores vintage motorcycles and applies the same patience to a 1972 Honda that he does to a smoke chamber parged with HeatShield.

Dana handles our liner pulls and rebuilds, the jobs where we’re dropping DuraFlex or Olympia Chimney stainless down a chase that’s seen forty years of Texas heat. She’s been with us since 2016 and holds factory training on both flexible and rigid liner systems. Dana’s the one who figured out that the clay liners in Plano’s 1980s builds were failing faster than the 1960s originals, probably due to the switch from pine to denser hardwoods in the 2000s. She keeps a spreadsheet of every chase height and flue dimension she’s touched. Also bakes sourdough that the warehouse guys fight over.

Jorge answers the phones and schedules the routes, which sounds straightforward until you try booking forty sweeps a week across sixteen cities without putting a tech in traffic for two hours between jobs.
